The Keys To Creating Behavior Strategies That Are Effective

1. Observe:  Witness what the individual gravitates towards when given options to choose.
2. Take Notes: Create a chart of interest to build up your incentives.
3. Invest:  Spend time with the individual to develop a level of interest.    4. Provide: Give opportunities for the individual to enjoy the activity of choice.
5. Promote: Appropriate and positive behavior for the environment (role play, model, positive affirmations, etc.)
6. Set Limits:  Develop boundaries for utilizing the activity of choice.
7: Routine:  Remain consistent and predictable
8.  REPEAT AS NEEDED

We all have different motivators; internal and external (nouns) that drive us for enjoyment. Our population is no different my suggestions; allow your individual to explore within a safe environment, ask and answer questions for clarity, promote positive interactions and room to grow (academically, socially and emotionally), develop a routine (First this/ then that) stay consistent, repeat and adjust as needed. Lastly, TRUST THE PROCESS!
